Pharmacy Technician Full Time Days
GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES - The Pharmacy Technician works under the supervision of the Pharmacists and the Director of Pharmacy and provides technical services as allowed by the hospital's policies, the laws of the State of Iowa, Board of Pharmacy, and that the technician is proven competent to performDUTIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
processing medication orders for final check by pharmacist product ordering and delivery, inventory control communicating with wholesaler and drug companies; answering telephones providing superior customer service prepare and document controlled substance for distribution IV compounding following USP standards and following hospital approved policy and procedures working with the hospital's point of care pharmacy drug automated system other duties as assigned KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES Competent to perform technician duties as described above.
EDUCATION High school graduate or equivalentEXPERIENCEPrevious experience as a pharmacy technician is strongly preferred.
CERTIFICATE/LICENSE Must be registered by the Iowa Board of Pharmacy as a Technician and be nationally certified by the PTCB Board, or a registered Technician Trainee (must register for trainee status prior to starting) who must complete the PTCB certification within one year of obtaining the Pharmacy Technician Trainee status.
